How it works

Three steps from plain to fancy

1

Type your text

Enter your name, bio line or any caption — Latin letters and numbers convert.

2

Pick a style

36 styles preview live. Star your favorites and they stay pinned on top.

3

Copy & paste

Hit copy and paste straight into your Instagram name, bio or comments.

Pro tips: two truths about fancy fonts

Fancy fonts are invisible to search

Platform search treats 𝓬𝓪𝓯𝓮 and cafe as different strings. Keep a plain-spelling version of your name searchable and use fancy text for decoration only.

Mind readability and accessibility

Screen readers announce each fancy character verbosely ('Mathematical Bold Capital…'), making the text unintelligible to visually-impaired users. Never put critical info (contact, shop name) entirely in fancy fonts.

Why this fonts generator

100% local, zero upload

Conversion happens in your browser. Your text never touches a server.

Pin your favorites

Star the styles you use most and they load first next time.

Works everywhere

Same text works on TikTok, X, Threads, Telegram and any Unicode-friendly app.

How Instagram fonts actually work

Instagram doesn't let you install custom fonts — every 'fancy font' you see in bios is plain Unicode. The Unicode standard reserves whole blocks for Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols, enclosed letters, fullwidth forms and more. 𝓐 and A are genuinely different characters with different code points, which is why fancy text can be copied, pasted and sent like normal text and renders on any Unicode-capable platform without any app or font installation.

That design also explains the two limitations you'll hit. First, only Latin letters and digits have fancy counterparts — CJK scripts like Chinese and Japanese have none, so non-Latin input only works with decorative frames. Second, on some older devices a few styles show up as hollow boxes ('tofu'): the device's fonts simply lack those glyphs. It's a device limitation, not a bug — every mainstream phone from recent years renders all 36 styles fine.

Practical advice: keep a searchable plain spelling in your handle (platform search does not match fancy variants), use fancy styles for the decorative parts of your bio, and avoid styling critical information like contact details entirely in fancy text so screen-reader users aren't locked out. This tool is maintained by SocialEcho and converts everything locally in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded. After pasting, run our Bio Length Checker to make sure you're still under Instagram's 150-character bio limit.

FAQ

Common questions about IG fonts

Do fancy fonts affect Instagram search?

Yes. Search treats fancy characters as distinct strings, so a fancy-only name won't be found by its plain spelling. Keep your handle plain and decorate the bio instead.

Why do some styles show as squares on certain devices?

Squares ('tofu') mean the device's system fonts lack those Unicode glyphs — mostly older Android builds. Current iOS and Android render all styles correctly.

What's the Instagram bio character limit?

150 characters, and fancy characters count too (some decorated styles use extra characters). Paste your result into our Social Media Bio Length Checker to verify.

Can I use these fonts on TikTok or X?

Yes. The output is standard Unicode text, so it works on TikTok, X, Threads, Telegram — anywhere Unicode is supported. Rendering depends on the viewer's device fonts.

Does it work with non-English text?

Letter-mapping styles only cover Latin letters and digits — Unicode defines no fancy variants for CJK. Non-Latin input shows unchanged with an 'English letters only' note, but all decorative frame styles work with any language.

Is it free? Is my text stored anywhere?

Completely free, no sign-up. Conversion runs locally in your browser; your text never reaches a server and favorites are stored only in your own browser.
