Voice credits & licenses
Every voice on our free AI voice tools comes from the open-source Kokoro voice set and is generated inside your browser. This page lists what we use, under which license, and how to reach us if a voice should come down.
Engine
- Kokoro-82M (hexgrad) — Apache-2.0 (code, weights and voices). Text-to-speech for English, Chinese, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, Italian and Hindi. Runs entirely on your device; nothing is uploaded.
- kokoro-js · pinyin-pro · espeak-ng (browser) — Apache-2.0 · MIT · GPL-3.0. On-device generation in your browser: Kokoro via kokoro-js (Apache-2.0), Chinese pronunciation via pinyin-pro (MIT), other languages via espeak-ng (GPL-3.0, shipped as a separate module).
Voice sources
- Kokoro-82M built-in voices — Apache-2.0. All 45 voices are the voice embeddings shipped with Kokoro-82M, shown under our own pseudonyms (for example 思琪 for zf_xiaoxiao). They derive from openly licensed or synthetic training data documented by the model authors.
